Tishomingo State Park, State park in Tishomingo County, US.
The park spans across northeast Mississippi's Appalachian foothills with rock formations, moss-covered boulders, and trails through dense woodland near Bear Creek.
Archaeological excavations reveal Native American settlements dating back to 7000 BC, with subsequent inhabitation by the Chickasaw people led by Chief Tishomingo.
The park preserves Native American heritage through its location along the Natchez Trace Parkway, a significant historical trade route used by indigenous communities.
Visitors can access 13 miles of hiking trails, fishing spots at Haynes Lake, camping facilities with 62 RV sites, and cabins for overnight stays.
The Civilian Conservation Corps constructed a suspended footbridge across Bear Creek in 1938, which remains a central feature of the park.
