Wall Doxey State Park, State park in Marshall County, Mississippi, US.
Wall Doxey State Park is a state park in Marshall County centered on Spring Lake, which is bordered by cypress trees and thick vegetation throughout its shoreline. The lake spreads across the property with wooded banks that create a serene setting for outdoor activities.
The park was built in 1935 by the Civilian Conservation Corps and was originally called Spring Lake. It received its current name in 1956 as a tribute to politician Wall Doxey.
The park's buildings display rustic design from the 1930s era that still shapes how visitors experience the space today. Walking through the grounds reveals how this architectural style reflects the construction methods of that decade.
The park provides 64 developed campsites, nine cabins, one cottage, and 18 primitive camping areas for visitors with different accommodation needs. These varied lodging choices allow guests to select the option that best fits their preferences and comfort level.
A narrow levee circles about one-third of the lake and creates specific water conditions that support plants and animals found nowhere else in the area. This structure shapes how the ecosystem functions in an unusual way.
