Wharton Esherick Studio

Wharton Esherick Studio is an art museum and historic landmark on expansive grounds in Malvern, containing five buildings that the artist designed and built himself. Each structure displays the handcrafted execution and represents a different phase of his creative evolution, from early to modern approaches.

The studio was built in multiple phases starting in 1926 as the artist refined and explored his craft. The progression from early styles to modernism reflected broader shifts in 20th-century design and architecture.

Visitors must reserve in advance to access the buildings and grounds. It is recommended to wear sturdy shoes, as the property has uneven terrain and tours are conducted on foot.
