The building was constructed between 1987 and 1990 as part of Columbus's downtown development efforts. Turner Construction oversaw the project while NBBJ designed the architectural form.
The building carries the name of William B. Green, a leader in American trade unions who dedicated his life to advancing labor rights from 1873 to 1952.
