The district contains eighteen notable buildings ranging from two to ten stories tall, featuring Italianate, Classical Revival, and Art Moderne architectural designs.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014, this four-acre district represents the evolution of High Street business development through the 19th and 20th centuries.
The First National Bank Building, Citizens Building, and White-Haines Building demonstrate the work of prominent Columbus architects during different construction periods.
The district boundaries extend from Wall Street to Lynn Street and include multiple commercial structures with street-level retail spaces and upper-floor offices.
Three buildings received historic preservation tax credits for renovation, yet appeared on Columbus Landmarks' 2019 List of Endangered Properties due to deterioration.
