Huntington Center, Office tower in downtown Columbus, United States
The Huntington Center is a high-rise office building in downtown Columbus rising approximately 512 feet across 37 floors. Its exterior features red granite and bronze-tinted glass, while the interior contains large atriums, a nine-story lobby, and spaces for shops, restaurants, and services.
Completed in 1984, the building was constructed on the site of the Neil House hotel, which operated from 1925 to 1981. This development replaced a landmark from Columbus's early hotel era.
The building draws design inspiration from the Ohio Statehouse and creates a visual conversation between contemporary and traditional local architecture. This connection is visible in the red granite facades and the overall form of the tower.
The building has multiple entrances and is easy to access, with covered walkways connecting to neighboring downtown structures. Note that this is an active office building, so public access to certain areas may be limited.
Two levels near the top of the tower house greenhouses containing approximately 8500 plants. These green spaces operate using a self-watering system that requires no pressurized equipment.
