Huntington Plaza, Office building on Capitol Square in Columbus, United States
The Brutalist-style Huntington Plaza features 12 floors of office space with concrete grids surrounding large windows and a recessed glassy lobby entrance.
The building, completed in 1965 and designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, replaced the James Building that contained Columbus's first major movie theater.
The plaza has been a focal point for civic engagement, hosting political offices and serving as a gathering place for public demonstrations.
The structure includes additional park space on its east side and connects directly to the larger Huntington Center complex in downtown Columbus.
The building sits on a constructed plaza that compensates for the natural slope toward the Scioto River, creating a level foundation for the structure.
