Wilson Hall, Former Methodist seminary on Franklin Street, Bucksport, United States
The two-story brick building features Greek Revival architecture with a square belfry rising from the center of its gable roof.
Built between 1850 and 1851, Wilson Hall served as the only Methodist seminary in eastern Maine until its closure in 1933.
The seminary building represents the growth of Methodist education in Maine during the nineteenth century, accepting both male and female students.
Following multiple preservation attempts, the structure requires extensive renovations estimated at one million dollars to transform into residential units.
The building narrowly escaped demolition in 2014 when local residents collected 5,000 dollars for emergency repairs to maintain this historical landmark.
