Quassy Amusement Park, Amusement park in Middlebury, Connecticut
Quassy is an amusement park in Middlebury featuring around 20 rides alongside Splash Away Bay, a dedicated waterpark area. The grounds also provide direct access to Lake Quassapaug for swimming.
The park was established in 1908 as a leisure destination connected by an electric trolley line running between Waterbury and Woodbury. Three businessmen took over the property in 1937 and transformed it into its current form.
The park maintains its position as one of eleven remaining trolley parks in the United States, representing an important part of American entertainment history.
Guests can opt for all-day ride tickets or pay for each ride individually as they go. Park entry is free, though visitors should budget for parking fees.
The Wooden Warrior, a wooden roller coaster added in 2011, became the park's signature ride. Its engineering and design earned recognition from the amusement industry.
