Wooden Warrior

Wooden Warrior is a wooden roller coaster located at Lake Quassapaug in a regional amusement park. The ride features six rows of two seats and carries twelve passengers per cycle through its course.

It opened in 2011, replacing the Mad Mouse ride that operated from 1966 to 2010. This replacement marked a modernization of the amusement park's attractions.

Elementary school students chose the name to honor the Native American heritage of Lake Quassapaug and the region. This local connection gives the ride a story that residents remember and share.

Riders must be at least 40 inches tall to board the coaster. Visit during quieter times if you prefer shorter lines and a more relaxed experience on the ride.

The structure was built using around 140,000 board feet of pressure-treated Southern pine along with approximately 235,000 fasteners including nails, nuts, and bolts. Such quantities reveal the complex engineering required for wooden coaster construction.
