Bolton Priory, Historic house in Pelham Manor, United States.
The stone and brick residence features two towers that provide views over Pelham Bay, with architecture reflecting the Romantic movement of England.
Reverend Robert Bolton and his family constructed this residence in 1838, which later functioned as the Priory School for Girls until 1883.
The interior displays intricate woodwork and stained glass crafted by the Bolton sons, representing nineteenth-century American craftsmanship and artistic skills.
The property, reduced from its original 38 acres to 3.7 acres, stands several hundred feet from Pelhamdale Avenue in Westchester County.
Washington Irving contributed to the design of both the house and gardens, which were featured in Andrew Jackson Downing's 1841 landscape gardening publication.
