Clem Spillane Field

Clem Spillane Field is a baseball facility in Wareham featuring a natural grass playing surface with defined field dimensions. The venue includes bleacher seating positioned along the base lines and a press box located behind home plate for broadcasting and media coverage.

This facility opened in 1963 and bears the name of Clement S. Spillane, a coach at Wareham High School. Spillane directed multiple sports teams at the school from 1947 to 1960, leaving a lasting impact on the local athletics community.

This field hosts the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League, where college players compete and gain experience. The league serves as a crucial stepping stone for young athletes developing their skills before entering professional baseball.

The venue is located on Marion Road and accommodates thousands of spectators throughout the grounds. Seating options line the playing field, offering good sightlines to watch the games from multiple vantage points.

A major renovation took place in 2007 with support from the Yawkey Foundation, which transformed the playing surface and infrastructure. The upgrades included improvements to the irrigation system and security arrangements that continue to benefit the venue today.
