Yawkey Athletics Center, Athletic training facility at Boston College, United States.
The Yawkey Athletics Center is a training facility on the Boston College campus spanning roughly 72,000 square feet. It houses football offices, meeting rooms, locker rooms, a sports medicine suite, strength conditioning facilities, and classroom spaces for educational purposes.
The facility opened in March 2005 as the first building on campus constructed entirely with private funding. This was made possible through a substantial commitment from the Yawkey Foundation, which supported the development of this training center.
The Hajjar Family Football Museum in the main lobby displays a bronze eagle sculpture and offers visitors a chance to connect with the football heritage of the school. The collection reflects the athletic identity that lives at this place.
Plan your visit by contacting Boston College in advance, as the facility is primarily designed for student-athletes and the university community. The Murray Family Function Room and other spaces can be reserved for events through the Athletic Department with prior arrangements.
The facility houses an Office of Learning Resources dedicated to supporting student-athlete development both on and off the field. This blend of athletic training and academic support reflects a focus on developing well-rounded individuals throughout their university years.
