Conway House, Federal style residence in Falmouth, United States
The Conway House features a two-story brick structure with five bays, side-gable slate roof, and interior-end chimneys spanning 2.5 acres of land.
Built in 1807, the Conway House served as a Union hospital during the Civil War and became the residence of author Moncure D. Conway.
The residence gained recognition as part of the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Historical Site in 2005, marking its connection to emancipation movements.
Located near the Rappahannock River in Stafford County, the Conway House offers guided tours focusing on 19th-century architecture and social reform history.
The L-shaped Federal style brick design includes original architectural elements such as a full basement and preserved interior features from the 1800s.
