Panorama, Colonial Revival house in Montross, United States
Panorama is a brick house built in Colonial Revival style that sits on a large property between two branches of Chandler's Mill Pond near Montross. The residence has two main facades facing different directions, one toward the driveway and one toward the water.
The house was built in 1932 for attorney Charles E. Stuart and reflects design elements from the nearby Bushfield estate. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011 for its architectural importance.
The mansion mirrors design elements from Bushfield estate, including an identical interior staircase arrangement that connects to John Augustine Washington's historical residence.
The property is located on Panorama Road and is visible from Kings Highway, which provides easy access to the area. Visitors can orient themselves by following Virginia Route 3, which leads to the nearby Chandler's Mill Pond Dam intersection.
The house preserves its two-story portico in its original form since 1932 without any structural changes. This prominent feature remains one of the most recognizable elements of the property and demonstrates the quality of its original construction.
