Springside Park

Springside Park is a historic district spanning about 237 acres with wooded areas, natural trails, ballfields, a bathhouse, and an Italianate mansion built in 1856. Visitors can explore the varied landscapes, walking paths, and recreational facilities across the entire property today.

The land was originally farmland of the Strong family in the early 1800s before Abraham Burbank took it over as a gentleman's estate. He built the main mansion between 1856 and 1860, shaping the character of the place.

The Hebert Arboretum within the grounds displays gardens and specimen trees that help visitors learn about plants and the natural world. These curated collections make it a place for botanical discovery.

The grounds have multiple recreational facilities, including pickleball courts and free skating areas during winter months. Plan your visit based on the season and the activities you want to enjoy across the different zones.

Natural springs flowing from the hillside feed the park's waterways and gave it its name in the 19th century. These water sources remain active today and continue to support the ecosystem of the entire property.
