Chutes du Schmadribach

Schmadribachfall descends 278 meters in multiple sections, with the main cascade creating a 227-meter vertical drop against the mountain face.

The waterfall formed through glacial activity from Hindra Schmadrigletscher, Vordra Schmadrigletscher, and Breithorngletscher on Breithorn mountain's northern side.

The waterfall represents one of 72 falls in Lauterbrunnen Valley, whose name translates to 'only sources' due to numerous mountain streams.

Access requires driving to Stechelberg's parking area, followed by a 6-kilometer hike with 800 meters elevation gain through marked mountain trails.

The water flow varies throughout the year, reaching maximum volume during early summer when three different glaciers contribute their melting ice.
