The Breithorn mountain rises to 4,164 meters between the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa, featuring five distinct summits covered with glacial surfaces.
The first successful climb of the Breithorn mountain occurred in 1813, led by Henry Maynard along with Joseph-Marie Couttet and three other mountaineers.
The mountain name derives from German words 'breit' and 'horn', reflecting its broad peak shape visible from surrounding Alpine communities.
The Klein Matterhorn cable car brings climbers to 3,820 meters, making this 4,000-meter peak accessible through a relatively short ascent route.
During summer months, marked tracks on the Breithorn Plateau guide climbers through a snow slope angled at 35 degrees toward the summit.
