The garrison is a military installation in Admiralty, Wan Chai District, Hong Kong, housing members of the army, navy, air force, and armed police. The facility passed from British administration to Chinese control in 1997, when the Crown Colony was handed back to the People's Republic of China. The transfer ended British military presence and began the stationing of Chinese armed forces in Hong Kong under the one country, two systems principle.
