Tier- und Pflanzenpark Fasanerie

The Tier- und Pflanzenpark Fasanerie is a 25-hectare facility on the northwestern edge of Wiesbaden with natural habitats for different animal species. The park houses bears, wolves, and foxes alongside many domestic animals in spacious, naturalistic enclosures.

The site began as a hunting ground for nobility and gradually transformed into a public nature conservation center open to visitors. It now serves primarily as an educational facility focused on protecting threatened animal species.

The park showcases rare domestic animal breeds that few people encounter elsewhere in their daily lives. These animals represent an important part of the park's mission to preserve endangered varieties that are at risk of disappearing.

The park is easy to walk through with wide pathways that are comfortable for most visitors. There are several rest areas and picnic spots where people can pause and enjoy the surroundings.

The otter enclosure features underwater viewing windows and wooden walkways that let visitors watch these animals from different angles. Being able to observe otters swimming and diving directly underwater gives a rare glimpse into their natural water behavior.
