Deutsche Kinemathek, Film and television museum in Potsdamer Platz, Germany
The Deutsche Kinemathek features permanent exhibitions documenting film and television history through multimedia displays, artifacts, and interactive installations.
Established in 1963 by director Gerhard Lamprecht, the institution started as a film archive and expanded to include a television museum in 2006.
The museum maintains the Marlene Dietrich Collection, presenting costumes, personal items, and memorabilia from the German-American actress's career.
The institution remains closed until 2025 during its relocation to E-Werk, with plans to resume exhibitions, library services, and archive access at the new location.
Visitors can explore over 7,500 broadcasts spanning seven decades in the Mediathek Fernsehen archive, documenting both East and West German television programming.
