Haus Ithaka

Haus Ithaka is a Baroque Revival villa located on Am Horn street in Weimar, distinguished by its symmetrical facade, tall windows, and ornamental stone details. The building overlooks the green landscape of Park an der Ilm.

Architect Paul Schultze-Naumburg designed the residence between 1907 and 1909 for writer Ernst von Wildenbruch, who made it his home until his death. After that period, the building underwent different uses for social purposes.

The house reflects how creative professionals and writers lived in early 20th-century Weimar when the city was a hub for artistic innovation. It shows the residential choices of wealthy intellectuals during that period.
