The Wolfsburg City Hall comprises five separate buildings labeled A through E, with the main structure displaying modern architectural design. The administrative offices, including the Mayor's quarters and department heads, occupy Building A along Porschestrasse, the primary shopping street.

The foundation stone was laid in 1955 following architect Titus Taeschner's winning design, and the inauguration occurred in March 1958. It emerged as part of Wolfsburg's development into a modern administrative center.

The entrance displays a city chronicle documenting events until 1958, while the civic hall floor features a city map from when the building opened. These details tell the story of Wolfsburg's growth as a planned city.

The building is easy to locate along Porschestrasse, the busy shopping street in the city center. It is accessible on foot, and the entrance is well marked.

The structure houses a carillon made of 24 bronze bells weighing between 24 and 450 kilograms, playing folk melodies every hour from 8 AM to 8 PM. These bells form part of the daily sound experience for visitors and residents passing through the area.
