St. Martin

St. Martin is a church in Ediger-Eller that spans different architectural styles across its structure. The tower was built around 1506-1518, while the main hall was later redesigned in the Baroque style.

Construction of the church took place between 1506 and 1518 during a time of transition in the region. The baptismal font inside dates to much earlier, around 1100, indicating that Christian worship at this site predates the current building.

The church has served as the spiritual center of Ediger-Eller for centuries, shaping the identity of this small wine village. It reflects how religious buildings anchor communities and remain part of daily life in the Moselle region.

The church sits along the main road through Ediger-Eller, making it easy to find and reach on foot. Parking is available near the village center, a short walk from the building.

Inside the church stands a Stumm organ, a rare treasure built by a celebrated organ-making family from the Hunsrück region. These instruments are highly valued today for their craftsmanship and distinctive sound qualities.
