Wiesbaden Ost station

Originally constructed as part of the Taunus Railway project, the station officially opened on May 19, 1840, making it one of the earliest railway facilities in the region with over 180 years of continuous operation.

Designated as a cultural heritage monument in Germany, the station preserves its neo-baroque entrance building from 1906, representing the architectural style prevalent during the early 20th century railway expansion period.

Despite being named 'Ost' meaning east, the station is actually situated in the southern part of Wiesbaden rather than the eastern section, creating a geographical misnomer that has persisted since 1934.
