Højhuset Langenæs, High-rise apartment building in Langenæs, Denmark
Højhuset Langenæs is a brick residential tower in the Langenæs neighborhood of Aarhus. The building rises across 15 floors and contains roughly 90 apartments with varying layouts.
The tower was completed in 1971 and represented a turning point in how Aarhus approached residential construction with taller structures. Its development was part of a broader housing movement that brought new living arrangements to the city during that decade.
The building exemplifies Danish modernist architecture through its use of traditional red brick construction, making it one of only two brick high-rises in Denmark.
The building sits conveniently near public transportation, shops, and parks that serve daily needs. The location makes errands and leisure activities easy to reach.
Red aluminum cladding was added in the 1990s to handle moisture issues while preserving the building's look. This practical solution extended the tower's lifespan significantly.
