Corax Fauna, parque zoolóxico privado situado no concello coruñés de Paderne
Corax Fauna is a wildlife center in Paderne that houses more than 50 animal species, including birds of prey, mammals, and exotic creatures. The facility features naturalistic enclosures where visitors can observe animals while learning about their behavior and needs through guided experiences.
The center was established about 17 years ago and has grown into an important place for animal education and care. A notable milestone occurred in 2022 when the first cheetah cubs born in Galicia were born here, following the arrival of a breeding pair from South Africa in 2021.
The name refers to a Latin word for raven, reflecting a connection to wildlife. Visitors experience animals living in spaces designed to mirror their natural habitats rather than confined enclosures, creating an open and respectful environment for observing behavior.
Visits are available by reservation for guided tours lasting around 90 minutes. The grounds are easily accessible and spacious enough for walking at a relaxed pace, allowing visitors to explore the center with an experienced guide.
The center is known for the birth of Rúa, a cheetah born in 2022 who was the first cheetah cub born in Galicia. This success is part of a larger conservation program aimed at protecting endangered species through breeding and education.
