Description
Aran Benllyn rises 885 meters above sea level as the second highest peak in the Aran range within southern Snowdonia. The mountain features steep slopes, grassy flanks, and a stone cairn marking the summit point.
History
The mountain region has been inhabited and used by people since prehistoric times. A memorial marker on the path commemorates a mountain rescue worker killed by lightning in 1960.

The mountain carries Welsh names rooted in the landscape's pastoral history and local language traditions. Today, hikers encounter the same rolling terrain that shepherds have grazed for generations.
Practical
The main hiking trail starts from Cwm Cywarch and follows a circuit passing through Waun Camddwr to the summit. Expect changing weather and wear sturdy boots and rain gear for this exposed mountain environment.
