Ciste Dhubh

Ciste Dhubh rises to 979 meters with a pointed peak and dark crags, standing prominently among the mountains of the Kintail region.

The name Ciste Dhubh originates from Scottish Gaelic, translating to Black Cist, referencing the geological formations and possible ancient burial sites in the area.

The mountain forms part of the traditional Highland landscape where Scottish mountaineering practices and navigation techniques developed through generations of local knowledge.

Climbers begin their ascent from Cluanie Inn, following a path to Bealach a' Choinich before traversing the southern shoulder to reach the summit.

The mountain connects to multiple peaks through a bealach, enabling hikers to complete four Munros in a single expedition covering 16 kilometers.
