Dinas Cromlech, Rock climbing area in Llanberis Pass, Wales.

Dinas Cromlech is a climbing formation in the Llanberis Pass in Wales that rises about 40 meters and features a distinctive open book shape carved into the rhyolite rock. The rock face provides numerous vertical climbing routes that range from easier grades to very challenging ascents for experienced climbers.

Joe Brown completed the first ascent of Cenotaph Corner in 1952, establishing this location as a turning point in British climbing development. This early achievement drew many climbers to the crag and transformed it into a symbol of progress within Britain's mountaineering tradition.

The climbing routes carry names rooted in British mountaineering stories, such as Cemetery Gates and Lord of the Flies, creating a shared identity and tradition among climbers who visit.

The crag is visible from the A4086 road and easy to locate, with parking at Cromlech Boulders providing a starting point for the steep hike to the base. Equipment and safety precautions are essential, as conditions vary significantly depending on weather and season.

The rhyolite rock displays a striking open book shape when viewed from the A4086 road, making it instantly recognizable to climbers. This unusual geometry made it a favorite destination for climbers seeking a distinctive and memorable challenge.
