Santi Severino e Sossio, Naples, Renaissance church in historic center of Naples, Italy.

The church presents a Latin cross layout with seven chapels on each side and contains numerous frescoes decorating its walls and ceilings.

Benedictine monks established the church in the tenth century, bringing the relics of Saint Severino and Saint Sossio after fleeing Saracen invasions.

The wooden choir created by Benvenuto Tortelli in 1573 established new design standards for religious furniture across Southern Italy.

The State Archives of Naples now occupies the former monastery complex, which includes three cloisters and extensive garden spaces.

The cupola, constructed in 1561 by Sigismondo di Giovanni, stands as one of the first dome structures built in Naples.
