Gesù Vecchio, Naples

Gesù Vecchio is a Baroque church with a convex facade and classical architectural elements from the 17th century, featuring a Latin cross floor plan with a central nave and side chapels. The interior contains numerous religious artworks distributed across the walls and individual chapels.

The church was founded in 1554 by the Jesuits and underwent major reconstruction between 1608 and 1623 under architect Pietro Provedi. This rebuilding phase created the Baroque appearance visitors see today.
