Santa Caterina della Spinacorona, Former church in Naples historic center, Italy.
The church features an ornate holy water font created in the studio of Cosimo Fanzago and floors decorated with maiolica tiles from 1760.
The church building, commissioned in the 1570s by Don John of Austria following the Battle of Lepanto, was later transferred to the Dominican Order in 1613.
The Centro di Musica Antica Pietà de' Turchini foundation now uses this space to present and research Neapolitan musical compositions from the 16th to 18th centuries.
The building contains multiple chapels with significant artworks, including paintings by Francesco De Mura, Fedele Fischetti, and Lorenzo De Caro throughout its interior spaces.
The adjacent Spinacorona Fountain displays a siren pouring water from her breasts to extinguish Mount Vesuvius fires, with a mysterious violin carved on the volcanic slopes.
