Chiostro dei Santi Marcellino e Festo, Monastic cloister and university complex in Naples, Italy
The rectangular cloister features three arched pilasters adorned with piperno stone decorations and contains a 19th-century garden with fountains.
A document from March 1st, 763 mentions the abbess of the primitive monastery of Saints Marcellino and Pietro, marking the beginning of this religious complex.
Since 1932, the cloister houses the Paleontology Museum of Naples, which belongs to the Natural and Physical Sciences Museums Center of the University.
The complex serves the University of Naples Federico II, hosting the Department of Political Sciences and providing spaces for academic conferences.
Archaeological findings discovered during various construction works are displayed along the walls of the arcades.
