Castel Lusa, Medieval castle near Feltre, Italy.

The castle complex stands on a strategic hilltop at 405 meters altitude, protected by natural cliffs carved by the Stien and Arnaut streams.

The first documented reference dates to 982 when Bishop Giovanni of Belluno placed the fortress under his control during territorial expansion.

The castle structure now houses the Accademia del Melograno, an institution dedicated to research and promotion of material culture and applied arts.

The castle grounds remain open for exploration, with multiple hiking trails connecting to nearby villages of Arson, Lasen, and Villabruna.

The original military fortress underwent transformation in 1421 under Venetian rule, converting defensive structures into residential spaces with frescoed rooms.
