Monte Modino

Monte Modino is a mountain summit in the Appennino Tosco-Emiliano range with an elevation of 1557 meters. From the top, you can see across much of the surrounding Italian landscape.

The summit is known as one of the most demanding climbs in the Emilia-Romagna region. Its reputation stems from the significant elevation gain and technical challenges hikers face.

Local mountaineers maintain trail CAI 509, preserving access routes to the summit while sharing knowledge of the mountain's paths with new generations.

The route follows trail CAI 509, which is regularly traveled and maintained by local hikers. The climb requires good physical fitness and sure footing on steep sections.

The southern face shows clear rock layers that document the geological development of the region. Observant visitors can see different stone zones that formed over long periods of time.
