Monte Marzo, Mountain summit between Piedmont and Aosta Valley, Italy.

Monte Marzo is a mountain reaching about 2800 meters with a pyramid-shaped peak that sits between three valleys: Valchiusella, Soana, and Valle della Legna. From the top, you can see across several Alpine valleys at once.

Ancient Roman paths near the settlement of Fondo show that people have crossed this mountain area for many centuries. These old routes connected the lowlands on both sides through the Alpine passages.

The mountain sits where different regional communities meet, and each valley at its base keeps its own Alpine traditions alive. Visitors can sense these distinct local ways of life while walking through the surrounding areas.

The trails to the summit are passable from June through November, with autumn offering drier conditions and clearer views across the Alpine ranges. It is wise to start early and wear good hiking boots.

The mountain can be climbed by three different routes, each starting from a separate valley and offering its own view of the landscape. This means every ascent feels like a different experience.
