Oratorio dell'Assunta

The Oratorio dell'Assunta features ornate decorations throughout its interior, including late sixteenth and seventeenth-century artistic elements that adorn the walls and ceiling.

Established in 1590, the oratory became a central meeting point where separate congregations of artists and merchants merged into the singular congregation of Assunta.

The main altar presents an Assunta artwork by Fabrizio Santafede from the late sixteenth century, while Giuseppe Funaro and Crescenzo Gamba created eighteenth-century frescoes.

Visitors enter the oratory through a door along the right nave of the church, which leads to an exterior passage connecting to Palazzo Seripando on Via Duomo.

The ceiling displays a central trompe-l'œil created by Crescenzo Gamba, demonstrating advanced artistic techniques of the eighteenth century.
