Onomichi Historical Museum

The Onomichi Historical Museum occupies a restored bank building from the Taisho era, featuring local archaeological materials and cultural exhibits across multiple floors.

The structure, initially constructed as the Onomichi Bank headquarters during the Taisho period, marks the beginning of banking development in Hiroshima Prefecture.

The museum collection contains artifacts from the Middle Ages, illustrating the progression of Onomichi from a maritime trading center to a modern city.

Visitors can access the museum via a 15-minute walk from JR Onomichi Station, with general admission costing 210 yen and free entry for junior high students.

The museum building retains original architectural elements from its banking past while housing exhibitions that document the maritime heritage of Onomichi.
