Ōtemachi urban net building, Skyscraper in Otemachi, Japan
Otemachi Urban Net Building is a 22-story tower with a glass and steel facade that rises 96 meters above ground. Inside, a central atrium stretches through multiple floors and creates an open feeling throughout the structure.
This tower was completed in 1990 on the site of the former Marunouchi Nomura Building. That earlier structure had once housed telephone exchange facilities for the Marunouchi and suburban areas of Tokyo.
The building hosts an urban farming project called Edible Park Otemachi where vegetables and herbs grow in the heart of the city. This space reflects how people here try to bring nature and city living together in their everyday surroundings.
The building connects directly to Otemachi Station at exit A5 and sits just five minutes from Tokyo Station on foot. Inside you will find 18 elevators and parking for 332 vehicles.
A French restaurant on the 21st floor offers views of the historic brick building of Tokyo Station and the high-rises of the harbor district. The space is decorated with artworks by Matisse and Miro.
