Hongan-ji Kagoshima-betsuin

Hongan-ji Kagoshima-betsuin is a Buddhist temple in Kagoshima featuring a large main hall with traditional Japanese architectural elements and a gilded altar. The interior is designed with seating, wooden pillars, and peaceful proportions that create a serene space for worship and contemplation.

The temple was closed during the Satsuma regime's suppression of Buddhism but reopened in 1876 following the Meiji Restoration. This reopening allowed the community to resume their spiritual practices after a period of restriction.
