Vories Memorial Hall, Biographical museum in Omihachiman, Japan.

Vories Memorial Hall is a white Western-style building in Omihachiman with symmetrical design and large windows throughout. The two-story structure displays classical details and refined architectural elements in every section.

The building was constructed in 1931 as the residence of American architect William Merrell Vories. This architect shaped Japan's built landscape by designing over 1600 buildings during his years living in the country.

The rooms display personal items and design sketches that reveal how Western and Japanese styles came together in everyday life. Visitors can see how this blend worked in practice through the arranged spaces.

Visitors are guided through the building and receive information about the architecture and history of each room. It helps to spend time in each space to fully appreciate the design details.

The interior preserves furniture and fixtures from the 1930s, many designed by Vories himself. These original pieces offer a rare look into how an influential architect actually lived day to day.
