Hanetaki Bridge, Triangular pedestrian bridge in Midori, Japan
The Hanetaki Bridge spans 120 meters across the Watarase River gorge, featuring a distinctive A-frame structure with a width of 3.5 meters.
Originally constructed in 1953 as a wooden suspension bridge, the current Hanetaki Bridge was rebuilt in 1994 at a cost of 569 million yen.
The bridge deck contains 120 decorative tiles depicting birds and flowers, contributed by communities from different regions of Japan.
Located just 6 minutes on foot from Omama Station, the bridge connects the Omama and Takatsudo districts of Midori City in Gunma Prefecture.
The name Hanetaki derives from the water splashing against rocks below, creating a waterfall-like effect visible from the bridge.
