鼻毛石町, Rural district on Mount Akagi southern slopes in Maebashi, Japan.

The Hanageishi district extends across 5.33 square kilometers of green landscapes with a population of 2,666 residents as of August 2017.

The area obtained its name during the Sengoku period and became part of Maebashi City in 2004 through a merger with Miyagi Village.

The district name originates from a notable rock formation called Hanaishi, which according to local legends arrived during Mount Akagi's volcanic eruption.

The area connects to neighboring regions through Route 353 and multiple prefectural roads, with demand-responsive bus services for transportation.

The unusual name Hanageishi derives from moss-covered rocks that appeared similar to nose hairs according to one regional interpretation.
