CDGK Stadium is a sports facility in Karachi with concrete stands and grass pitches that accommodate roughly 6,000 spectators. The venue hosts both cricket and football matches.
The stadium opened in 1956 with a football match between Keamari Union and Baloch XI, marred by a pavilion collapse that injured many. A comprehensive structural reconstruction took place years later to improve safety standards.
Teams from different Karachi neighborhoods compete here regularly, bringing together supporters from Orangi, Landhi, Korangi, Malir, and Lyari. The matches create a space where diverse communities of the city gather.
The stadium is easily accessible from the city center with ample parking nearby for visitors. Book tickets in advance during major events, as the facility fills quickly during popular matches.
The facility received substantial improvements following direct orders from a top government official in the early 1960s. This intervention became a turning point in how the venue was maintained and developed.
