CDGK Stadium, Sports stadium in Karachi, Pakistan
The CDGK Stadium features concrete stands and grass fields, providing space for 6,000 spectators to watch cricket and football matches.
The stadium opened in 1956 with a football match between Keamari Union and Baloch XI, during which a pavilion collapse injured numerous spectators.
Teams from Orangi, Landhi, Korangi, Malir, and Lyari neighborhoods regularly compete at the stadium, representing different ethnic communities of Karachi.
The stadium serves as a venue for both cricket and football events, managed by the Karachi Municipal Corporation with regular matches throughout the year.
The facility underwent substantial renovations in 1962 following direct instructions from President Ayub Khan to improve its structural integrity.
