Kostrzyn nad Odrą Castle, Medieval castle in Kostrzyn nad Odrą, Poland
The fortress stands at the strategic confluence of the Oder and Warta rivers, featuring preserved bastions and gates within stone fortification walls.
The castle, constructed in the 13th century, served as the capital of the Neumark region under John of Brandenburg-Küstrin during the 16th century.
The Berlin Gate houses exhibits including Bronze Age artifacts, jewelry, and the reconstructed coffin lid of Katharina von Braunschweig from 1882.
Visitors can access guided tours through the castle ruins, with the Berlin Gate section remaining closed from October through March.
The structure contains casemates within Bastion Philipp that present multimedia exhibitions detailing the history of the city and garrison.
