Pychowice

Pychowice is a residential area along the southern bank of the Wisła River that blends modern apartment blocks with older buildings and green spaces. The neighborhood extends along the river and features a mix of different housing types and open areas.

The neighborhood started as a settlement in the medieval landscape outside Kraków and supplied the city with grain and farm goods. It gradually transformed into a residential district as the city expanded around it.

Local shops and community gathering spots in the neighborhood serve as meeting places where residents interact and maintain social bonds. These spaces help preserve the area's character as a close-knit community with everyday social traditions.

The area is well connected to central Kraków by several regular bus routes that serve the neighborhood. Walking or cycling along the river is also a practical way to explore the area and move between different parts.

Several wooden houses from the 1800s still stand in the neighborhood, reminding visitors of the time when the area was a village. These buildings show how rural life looked before Kraków expanded into this territory.
