Pychowicka Górka

Pychowicka Górka is a hill located within the Bielańsko-Tyniecki Landscape Park, featuring wooded areas and open meadows interspersed with tall stone walls left behind from quarrying operations. The site contains marked walking trails, rest benches, and a small shelter to provide comfort for those exploring the grounds.

Between 1914 and 1916, Austrian military forces carved three cave fortifications into the hill for defensive purposes during wartime. These historical structures remain accessible and showcase the site's military past.

The municipality of Kraków purchased the 10-hectare green space to preserve natural areas and extend recreational opportunities for local residents.

The site features several walking trails that lead to viewpoints overlooking nearby forests and distant mountain ranges, including views toward the Tatra Mountains. It is advisable to wear sturdy footwear due to uneven terrain and some steeper sections along the paths.

The hill lies within a protected ecological zone designated to safeguard rare meadow habitats and specialized plant and animal species. This environmental significance makes it an important destination for nature observers and those interested in biodiversity.
