The bronze monument features Bohdan Smoleń seated at a table with a cigarette, making a silence gesture and leaving space for visitors to sit.
The monument was unveiled on June 11, 2021, through a ceremonial burning of its covering cloth, accompanied by fire shows and fireworks displays.
The memorial commemorates the Polish cabaret artist who, along with Zenon Laskowik, created the renowned Tey cabaret group in the 1970s and 1980s.
Located at the intersection of Strzałowa and Rybaki streets, the monument includes carved excerpts from Smoleń's most famous cabaret sketches on the table.
The empty chair opposite the statue invites visitors to interact with the monument and take photographs while sitting across from the celebrated performer.
