The bronze monument in Kaliningrad depicts Vladimir Lenin in a suit jacket, with one arm extended forward in a characteristic gesture. The statue stands in front of a House of Culture, a building where local residents and children gather.
The work was created in 1958 by sculptor VB Topuridze and originally replaced a Stalin monument in Victory Square. It now stands at a different location following its relocation in 2005.
The monument represents a period of Soviet influence in the city and remains an acknowledged cultural heritage site. The space in front of it serves as a gathering spot where people and children spend time.
The statue is easily accessible and sits in plain view in front of an active community center. The space works well for a brief visit and photos at any time of day.
